Follow my family as we try new outdoor activities, expand our current interests and see just how much gear can fit in one house. So far some or all of us actively participate in cycling, running, kayaking, snowboarding and geocaching. Less frequently we hike, snowshoe, and camp.

Snow Biking
Quick afternoon ride at Blue Mounds State Park, video is pretty shaky guess I need a helmet cam.
Wait, I didn't think bikes could go on single track in winter? Also, they actually "groom" that trail (probably with a toboggan) for hiking/snowshoeing; it's not just the result of snoeshowing traffic. Anyway, cool video - glad it wasn't last week when I was out on that trail snowshoeing.
No grooming of the trails, simply packed by snowshoes. The trails are open year round although the ranger indicated this may change temporarily. I don't think you have much to worry about while snowshoeing, I was going under 4 mph
cool vid! While I don't want it to stick around, I'd love to get some snow so I could play in it for a day or two :-)
ReplyDeleteThanks. We have had it easy this year, under a foot total I think. It can go anytime I've had enough of the cold.
